Giant Golden Apple snails are large sized species that's related to the more widely known and smaller mystery snail. These big beauties grow to about 3 inches in shell diameter or 5 inches from nose to tail tip. Their numbers are easy to control and will not become a plague, like smaller snails can, as they lay bright pink eggs sacs just above the water line. These are easy to remove and discard if you don't want your snails to breed.
These snails are home bred, not imported. They are 100% pure golden lines - their offspring produce all golden babies, no browns at all.
Your snails will be about 1-2 cm in diameter and perfectly ready to settle into a new home. Younger snails travel better than adult ones do and will quickly acclimatize to your tank. Apple snails grow rapidly and become impressively large, meaning they will need to be housed in a reasonable sized tank. 40cm is the minimum really.
Young snails are perfectly capable of finding their own food but they will need to be fed as they get big - adults are about 3 inches in diameter, which is a lot of snail to rely on finding left over food! Mine love sinking catfish pellets, snowflake feed, left over fish food, anything really.
Please note that when they get hungry, they will eat plants, and giant snails are always hungry!
