Description
Vinegar
eels are a GREAT easy to raise first food for many fish fry including Betta’s, killifish, and all small fish & shrimp.
These
guys are SUPER easy to culture,
and raise so you always have live food available for your newborn fish,
vinegar eels offer maximum nutrition, and will survive in your tank for
many days, allowing your fry to actually hunt them, as they would have
to do
in nature.
As
they wiggle around in the water column, they trigger the fish/ Fry’s natural hunting instinct, which you don’t get from flake or frozen foods,
and often fish can die, as a result, as they don’t always realise those
products are food.
All you need is a wine bottle, or larger bottle.
Cut up some Apple just pieces enough to cover the bottom
Fill half the bottle with apple cider vinegar
Then rest with water, ideally rain water, or dechlorinated tap water.
(I have topped up with tap water when needed, and the culture has been fine.
Then add your culture.
The water rises to the top, and soon you will see hundreds then thousands of ting wriggling worms, which last for days in your aquarium.
This culture will last months if not years in the bottle, and so much better for your pets as natural and not processed.
Just use pipet to get them out, as they collect at the top of the bottle, so this is very easy to do.
I send enough to start 3x wine bottles cultures.
Please Note I post Mondays & Thursdays
