Feeding
Ramshorn Snails are peaceful and active cleaners, constantly grazing on surfaces like glass and ornamental rocks to remove algae and detritus, they do not harm live plants, but they will clean algae off the leaves, which helps the leaves photosynthesise, their ability to consume leftover food helps maintain water quality by reducing waste buildup.
Feeding
Ramshorn Snails are omnivorous scavengers and will eat:
- Algae and biofilm
- Leftover fish food (flakes, pellets, and wafers)
- Decaying plant matter
- Blanched vegetables (Cucumber, zucchini, spinach, lettuce)
- Calcium-rich foods (to support shell health)

Ramshorn Snails are a fantastic addition to any freshwater tank, offering both beauty and functionality. Whether you're looking for an effective algae cleaner or a unique invertebrate to liven up your aquarium, these snails are a great choice.
I send mixed sized Juveniles as they cope better with being posted, they need air and this is more important then water, they are very happy as long as they're damp, so if larger ones are posted, they can run out of oxygen very quickly and can die as a result, or arrive in poor condition.I also send in sturdy boxes, not bags like some sellers.
I
do not accept returns as I don't think it is fair to put them through
the post twice, but any problems please send photos and a message and
I'm happy to help.
