Fish tank landscaping and shrimp hide.
Resin sunken wood effect decoration. Shrimp need hiding places for several important reasons — it’s key to their health and survival:
When shrimp molt (shed their exoskeleton), they’re soft and very vulnerable for a day or two.
Hiding spots like moss, plants, or small caves protect them from other shrimp or fish that might nip at them.
Shrimp are naturally shy and easily stressed by sudden movement, light, or tank mates.
Hiding areas make them feel safe, reducing stress and improving feeding and breeding behaviour.
Females carrying eggs (“berried”) often hide more to avoid disturbance.
A calm, sheltered environment helps increase baby shrimp survival.
Shrimp enjoy exploring crevices, roots, and moss — it’s what they do in the wild.
Providing driftwood, cholla wood, and plants helps them behave naturally and stay active.
Moss and biofilm-covered surfaces (like rocks, hides or sponge filters) also grow microorganisms — a vital food source for shrimp.
So hiding spots double as feeding grounds!
