Description
These are around the 1.0-1.5cm size. Decent sized juveniles.
Like Neocaridina, these ideally require alkaline water to thrive. Currently in 8 dGH, 4 dKH water. Around pH 7.8. Typical Neocaridina environments will suit them well.
Very usefully, these will not interbreed at all with any non-C. babaulti shrimp. They also cope with heat in the summer well and will be fine up to 30 Celcius at least. Also will be fine around 18-20 Celcius in the winter. Absolutely perfect as something different to add to a Neocaridina tank.

Shrimp are sent by Evri next day delivery (which has been very reliable for me) on tues, weds or thurs only, for receipt the following day, and will only be sent once confirmation from the buyer of a good delivery day when someone is in to receive the package is received. Delivery is only available to MAINLAND UK addresses. In cold weather shrimp are sent with a heat pack. However, I also reserve the right to delay shipping due to especially bitter weather. Usually if temperatures are forecast to get below 4 degrees C I will delay and wait for a milder window of weather.
If Evri do not deliver to your address (or if you prefer Special Delivery) then Royal Mail Special Delivery is an option for an extra payment. Payment for delivery will need to be via Paypal goods and services (for your protection) or bank transfer. Please DM me if you wish to ask any questions.
Refunds (or partial refunds) for dead shrimp will be given, but only on receipt of photographs of any dead shrimp still in the transport bag, before it is opened. Having said that, I find DOAs are extremely rare with my shrimp. Guidance for safe acclimation of new shrimp is given below. Refunds will not be given for deaths due to people not being available at the delivery address to receive the package, causing delay in the delivery of the package.
How to drip acclimate your new shrimp
Your new shrimp need very slow adjustment to the water parameters and temperature of your tank. Please be aware that my shrimp are shipped in breather bags so please do not float the unopened bag in a tank at all, as this will starve the shrimp of oxygen. The bags are designed to be in air.
Any appropriate technique to do this works but if you want a formula here goes ….....
1/Empty the bag of new shrimp into a thoroughly clean container (I use a jug, itself sitting inside a bucket to catch any overflow). Make sure there are no detergent residues in the container. Tip away half of the water
2/Get a piece of air line around 5-6 feet long. Have a tap inline onthe airline somewhere, or tie a single knot in it. This will allowyou to control the rate of flow.
3/ Using that airline, start syphoning water from your tank into the container with your new shrimp. Quickly adjust the drip rate down to about 1 per second.
4 /Once the volume of water has increased to at least 4 x the original volume (should take around 2 hours) stop siphoning new water into the container and go to part 5). However........... If you have the patience to do it for another hour (which will be an even better acclimation for the new shrimp) then increase the drip rate to 2 x per second for one more hour. If the jug is filling up too much then just tip some of the water into the bucket it sits in. If the jug overflows its not a problem. After that extra hour, then stop siphoning and go to part 5).
5/If there is still a very noticeable temperature difference between the shrimp water and the tank then float this container with the shrimp in, in your tank for 20 minutes to help warm the water close to tank temps. Then net the shrimp out into your tank, or empty the container into your tank (whichever is your preference). If the shrimp temperature is already pretty much the same as the tank you may release your shrimp into the tank straight away before floating.
Your new shrimp may well arrive stressed and rather cold (depending on the weather) and be pale and sluggish on arrival due to this.They should perk up over the next 12-24 hours so long as acclimated slowly enough. I reserve the right to delay sending them in extreme weather.
